Rockhounding ideas for the family

I have fond childhood memories of rockhouding with my family in Connecticut where we would typically find our way to garnet mines. It’s a great way to spend time outdoors with friends and family. There are many children who display a deep interest in rocks and crystals and can readily identify those used in my display.

I want to share rockhounding tips for beginners and my search brought me to Emily Anderson’s webpage, YesDirt. There is a wealth of information in her Rocks, Minerals, and Crystals Library and her ongoing blog. Click on the button below to get started.
